I have a private number plate on my part exchange, what happens?

You will need to put your private plate on retention which can be done online at https://www.personalisedvehicleregistration.service.gov.uk/retain/vehicle-lookup


We will require a further deposit from you, which we will refund to you as soon as you have the V5 registration document back for your part exchange vehicle and you pass this onto us.


The reason we take a further deposit is because we will not be able to sell your part exchange vehicle without the new V5.

Transport For London

Cars need to meet minimum emission standards when travelling in the Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) or the daily charge must be paid.

Petrol: Euro 4
Diesel: Euro 6

The ULEZ will be enforced based on the declared emissions of the vehicle rather than the age. However:
